Mound enjoys a small-town atmosphere with numerous community events scheduled throughout the year. The Spirit of the Lakes Festival is hosted every July at Surfside Park and features a boat-in movie night, live entertainment, parade, arts & crafts show and a spectacular firework display. The Minnesota Wakesurf Competition is held this same weekend and is a quintessential way to experience Lake Minnetonka. The festivities continue into the fall when the Our Lady of the Lake Incredible Festival takes place. This community event features great food, silent auction, carnival rides and games, beer tent, and bingo. For 16 years, the Mound-Westonka Rotary has brought together many local craft breweries to create the Tonka Brew Fest. Held at Gale Woods Farm in November, this annual event features samplings from favorite local brewers and live music. The Dakota Regional Trail is a paved, regional trail that connects Wayzata to St. Bonifacius and beyond. The Dakota Trail meanders through downtown Mound offering panoramic views of the natural surroundings and Lake Minnetonka along the way.
